The spirit of Chinese New Year 2026 illuminated the heart of Kota Kinabalu as thousands gathered at Oceanus Waterfront Mall for a spectacular three-day celebration from 13 to 15 February 2026.
From the moment the doors opened at 11.00 a.m., the atmosphere was electric. Families, tourists, and local communities came together to celebrate tradition, unity, and prosperity. The highlight of the celebration was the captivating performances by Kumpulan Kesenian Jabatan Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Negara (KKJ) Sabah, whose cultural showcases beautifully reflected Sabah’s rich multicultural heritage.
The rhythmic beats of drums echoed through the mall, accompanied by graceful traditional dances and vibrant lion dance performances. Visitors were treated to interactive activities, festive booths, and exciting giveaways that kept the energy high throughout the day until 10.00 p.m.
